This was our first stop after arriving in Copenhagen, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. We were looking for something local and comforting after a long journey — and this place delivered. The staff was incredibly friendly, even joking with us about our cocktails, which made us feel right at home. The fish was freshly caught that morning, and the mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious. I truly can’t recommend this place enough — a warm, authentic welcome to the city.

The rump beef, slow-cooked for 8 hours, was so tender it melted in my mouth—no knife needed. Topped with Denmark’s signature brown sauce, rich and full of flavor, it left a deep, satisfying aftertaste with every bite. The sweet and tangy lingonberry sauce and the crisp, sour pickles made a perfect contrast, making the last bite just as exciting as the first. Paired with a local craft porter, it was a truly unforgettable dish that pulled me deep into the world of Danish flavors.

We had crispy pork and patty shell, pork was really great, interesting to have a taste of Danish food. However, the service was a little little bit slow. Overall it was a very good experience, recommend it!

Loved the atmosphere and the staff! This is obviously a popular spot because of how busy it was, luckily we got a spot before it became too crowded. The food was great, but I think Miss Barner’s stew was our favorite. We also tried the Wiener schnitzel, Danish minced beef steak, and the rump roast of beef. Everything was so good I wish I’d had room for dessert! Warning that the portions are large. Get here early to make sure you can get a table without a reservation.

I had an amazing experience here on my last night in Copenhagen. The atmosphere is cozy and genuinely Danish, with friendly and attentive service. I tried the minced beef steak. It was very tasty and the portion was generous. For dessert, I had the traditional rødgrød med fløde, stewed red berries with cream. The whole experience felt like a real taste of Denmark. Highly recommended for anyone looking for classic Danish comfort food in a warm and cozy setting. If I return to Copenhagen I will definitely come back and recommend it to my friends.

Food is all AMAZING. The chef really knows how to cook. My salmon and asparagus were both cooked to perfection (neither are easy dishes to cook perfectly). At our table, we had one salmon dish, one veal, and two of the roast beefs. The portions were good, the vegetables were very fresh, and everybody at our table was exceedingly happy with their food. The service was great and waiters very nice and accommodating!

A lovely restaurant with an interesting history, set within a charming and cosy building. The Danish cuisine was delicious - we tried Miss Barner’s stew, Barner’s plank steak, and the Wiener schnitzel, all of which were delicious and generously portioned. We also shared crispy potatoes and rice on the side. There were five of us, and the food was more than enough to satisfy everyone. The service was friendly also.
